Shadowknight

Shadowknight combines Taunt and tank stances with lifetaps, damage-over-time spells, debuffs, and offensive magic. It can sustain itself while maintaining threat and contributes to both Arcane Mastery and Spellblade strategies.

Strengths by Level Range

These breakpoints identify spells, abilities, or skills that materially change the class’s damage, control, recovery, or group value. They are highlights rather than a complete spell list.T2

Levels 1–19

  • Early lifetap, disease damage, snare, and threat tools combine damage with control (1: Lifetap, 1: Spike of Disease, 5: Disease Cloud, 11: Clinging Darkness).
  • The class starts with both direct sustain and damage-over-time pressure rather than waiting for a late hybrid spell package.

Levels 20–34

  • Feign Death, explicit hate generation, and stronger disease burst create a complete pull-and-tank loop (24: Feign Death, 33: Terror of Darkness, 34: Spear of Disease).
  • Terror of Darkness is specifically designed to incite hatred rather than relying only on damage-derived threat.

Levels 35–50

  • Late hate taps, anti-undead burst, disease burst, and lifetap sustain complete the hybrid package (35: Shroud of Hate, 47: Scythe of Darkness, 48: Spear of Pain, 49: Drain Spirit).
  • The class is strongest when defensive stability allows Shroud of Hate and weapon-triggered spells to remain active while Scythe of Darkness, Spear of Pain, and Drain Spirit are used on their appropriate targets.

Multiclass Synergy Boundaries

What stacks
Distinct skills, spells, passives, pets, utility, and stance/invocation access can combine when their own stacking rules permit.
What does not automatically stack
Duplicate crowd control, avoidance skills, buffs, and cap-based mechanics do not become additive merely because two classes grant them.
Evaluation method
Identify the mechanic supplied by Shadowknight, link to its canonical rule, then compare marginal value against the other two active classes.
