Enchanter

Enchanter is the primary control and enhancement package: mez, charm, haste, slow-like control, resistance manipulation, and Mana-oriented utility. Its value is often multiplicative because it changes how other classes deliver damage and survive encounters.

Overview

Primary Role

Crowd control, charm, haste, debuffs, and Intelligence-caster support

Resource Profile

Mana and Endurance interact through spells, stances, and invocations.

Damage Profile

See Melee, Spells, and the class details below for the delivery families this class supplies.

Multiclass Function

The class contributes its skills, spells, passives, stance access, and invocation access to the active loadout; overlapping mechanics use their own cap and stacking rules.

Class Details

Charm

Charm converts an eligible NPC into a controlled pet; spell upgrades raise the maximum target level and charmed-pet equipment is removed when charm breaks. T1

Mez and control scaling

Spell upgrades raise mez and charm level limits, with July 14 extending upgrade efficiency to pacify, fear, and stun. T1

Arcane Mastery access

Enchanter contributes an Intelligence-caster class to Arcane Mastery scaling and can use Empowering for output-oriented casts. T2

Hard crowd control and charm damage

A distinct class contribution that combines with other active-class mechanics according to the applicable stacking and cap rules.

Haste, debuffs, and resist support

A distinct class contribution that combines with other active-class mechanics according to the applicable stacking and cap rules.

Mana and casting support

Strengths by Level Range

These breakpoints identify spells, abilities, or skills that materially change the class’s damage, control, recovery, or group value. They are highlights rather than a complete spell list.T2

Levels 1–19

  • Early magic-resist debuffing, mesmerization, charm, and area control create unusually high damage leverage (2: Tashina, 2: Mesmerize, 12: Charm, 13: Enthrall, 16: Mesmerization, 16: Sanity Warp).
  • Charm can add an entire NPC damage source, while Tashina increases the reliability of magic-based follow-up spells.

Levels 20–34

  • Longer control durations and stronger charm tiers improve safe damage uptime (24: Beguile, 30: Entrance, 30: Entrancing Lights).
  • The best Enchanter damage often comes from enabling a charmed attacker or preventing additional enemies from interrupting the primary kill.

Levels 35–50

  • Late charm and control spells raise both the ceiling and stability of charm-focused builds (39: Cajoling Whispers, 47: Dazzle, 47: Gasping Embrace, 49: Allure).
  • Spell upgrades can raise crowd-control level caps, making upgraded charm and mez spells mechanically important rather than merely longer-lived.

Multiclass Synergy Boundaries

What stacks
Distinct skills, spells, passives, pets, utility, and stance/invocation access can combine when their own stacking rules permit.
What does not automatically stack
Duplicate crowd control, avoidance skills, buffs, and cap-based mechanics do not become additive merely because two classes grant them.
Evaluation method
Identify the mechanic supplied by Enchanter, link to its canonical rule, then compare marginal value against the other two active classes.

Open Verification Questions

Balance-sensitive: exact spell, discipline, AA, stance, and invocation values may change. This page centralizes stable class boundaries and sends numerical effects to their canonical reference pages.
