Variants

Strengths & Weaknesses

Strengths

  • Exceptional group stabilization
  • Strong buff and debuff coverage
  • Excellent recovery after mistakes
  • High contribution without requiring top personal DPS

Weaknesses

  • Low solo kill speed
  • Overlapping support tools can reduce marginal value
  • Requires good spell-bar and Quick Buff management
  • Can become threat-heavy through healing without a strong tank partner

Stances & Invocations

Only one stance and one invocation can be active at a time. The entries below are tactical modes to switch between, not simultaneous effects.

Priority Stances

Channeler
Keeps heals, slows, mez, and songs or spells active when support draws incidental aggro.
Evasive
Bard access provides a short emergency window to survive an add or failed pull while the control package resets the room.

Priority Invocations

Divine
Cleric and Shaman form a two-Wisdom-class package, converting all normal support casting into a base heal plus one 33% repeat.
Empowering
Cleric and Shaman count as two non-hybrid casters; it improves healing and damage, and eligible Bard area songs can receive the damage increase.
Recovery
Best for long groups where the support character must maintain buffs, slows, cures, and healing over many pulls.

Play Pattern

  1. Pre-plan Quick Buff spell gems to avoid unwanted casts and reagent use.
  2. Prioritize slow, healing, and mana stability over low-impact damage.
  3. Use Bard mobility and control to prevent emergencies rather than only reacting to them.

Synergies

These interactions focus on combinations that increase damage uptime, casts per minute, combat-skill throughput, or effective DPS by reducing time spent recovering.

Support casts become healing

Divine makes debuffs, buffs, and damage casts contribute to group recovery instead of competing with it.

Melee and caster amplification

Bard and Shaman buffs improve physical damage while Bard and caster tools improve Mana and spell throughput.

Control lowers healing demand

Slow, mez, and pull control remove more incoming damage than raw healing alone can efficiently replace.

Invocation switching

Empowering handles short burn or heal checks; Recovery sustains a long camp; Divine is the balanced default.

Tooltip mechanics and official patch changes are T1 or T2 where documented. Build-performance conclusions and community-tested interaction priorities remain T3 and balance-sensitive.

Top Weapons

1HHarmonic SpearPiercing10/210.476

The table records the highest base-ratio results returned during the July 21, 2026 EQ Legends Tools review for the representative trio at +0. It does not include upgrade scaling, proc value, focus/click/worn Exaltations, shields, encounter-specific effects, or every flexible substitution. T2

Attribute & Equipment Priorities

Ratio is only one weapon criterion. Proc effect, proc level, DEX, damage bonus, required positioning, shield value, and resource demands can make a lower-ratio weapon the better encounter choice.

Confidence Boundary

The mechanical components referenced by this page may be T1 or T2, but the recommendation that they form a strong build is T3. Balance patches, new items, encounter design, and better parse data can change the preferred exact trio without invalidating the broader archetype.
