Stats & Attributes
EverQuest Legends combines classic primary attributes with class-derived statistics, equipment bonuses, item ranks, focus effects, stances, invocations, and Alternate Advancement. This page separates confirmed EQL behavior from legacy EverQuest formulas that still require direct verification.
Stat Layers
A character's displayed and effective statistics can be influenced by several independent layers:
- Race baseline attributes.
- Active-class modifiers. EQL grants the benefits and statistics associated with each active class in the current loadout.T1
- Equipment and item-rank bonuses. Gear can be upgraded through ranks up to +10.T1
- Buffs, focus effects, stances, invocations, and passive AAs.
Verification boundary: the game exposes familiar EverQuest statistic names, but classic-EQ caps and formulas must not be assumed to be unchanged. EQL-specific formulas are recorded only when developer-confirmed or reproducibly tested.
Primary Attributes
The following roles are the current working map for the seven primary attributes. They are based on EQL community documentation and inherited EverQuest behavior; exact coefficients and caps remain provisional unless separately confirmed.T2
| Attribute | Primary mechanical roles | EQL verification |
| Strength (STR) | Contributes to melee attack output, carrying capacity, and some endurance calculations. | Role supported; coefficients unresolved. |
| Stamina (STA) | Contributes to maximum hit points and endurance. HP gained per point is expected to vary by class and level. | Role supported; class/level formula unresolved. |
| Agility (AGI) | Contributes to avoidance-related Armor Class and defensive performance. | Role supported; thresholds and caps unresolved. |
| Dexterity (DEX) | Contributes to weapon proc frequency, some critical-hit behavior, and skill advancement. | Role supported; proc and crit coefficients unresolved. |
| Wisdom (WIS) | Primary mana attribute for wisdom-based casters and hybrids; also associated with general skill advancement. | Role supported; mana formula unresolved. |
| Intelligence (INT) | Primary mana attribute for intelligence-based casters and hybrids; also associated with spell and general skill advancement. | Role supported; mana formula unresolved. |
| Charisma (CHA) | Influences merchant pricing and selected charm, lull, and blur checks. | Merchant role observed; spell-check coefficients unresolved. |
Derived Statistics
- Armor Class (AC)
- Defensive statistic incorporating worn armor and character defenses. The split between mitigation and avoidance should be treated as inherited behavior pending EQL-specific formula confirmation. See Avoidance and Damage Calculation.
- Attack (ATK)
- Offensive statistic used in melee resolution and damage potential. Exact EQL weighting of weapon skill, Offense, STR, and item ATK is unresolved.
- Hit Points (HP)
- Maximum survivable damage before death. Increased directly by +HP and indirectly by STA.
- Mana
- Resource used by spells and several hybrid mechanics. Maximum mana is associated with WIS or INT according to class.
- Endurance
- Resource used by disciplines and certain active mechanics. Some abilities can consume mana and endurance simultaneously.
- Resistances
- Poison, Magic, Disease, Fire, Cold, and EQL's additional Void resistance. Resist formulas belong under Spells → Resists.
- Regeneration
- HP, mana, and endurance recovery. EQL includes out-of-combat and access-based stance/invocation modifiers; detailed rules will be maintained in the relevant combat pages.
Item-Rank Scaling
Equipment can be upgraded from its base state through ranks up to +10.T1 Developer demonstrations established the following general behavior:
- Each rank commonly adds one point to an item's existing attributes and resistances. A base item with +1 INT was demonstrated as +3 INT at rank +2.T1
- Weapon upgrades can reduce weight and may increase base damage at particular ranks; a damage increase is not guaranteed at every rank.T1
- Exaltation slots unlock progressively by item rank. The rank is required both to extract that effect from its source item and to place a compatible exaltation into another item:T2
- +1: Focus Exaltation slot.T1
- +2: Click Exaltation slot.
- +3: Worn Exaltation slot.
- +4: Proc Exaltation slot.
- A developer described a +4 item as equivalent to sixteen base copies for merge-value purposes.T1
Not every item gains every statistic at each rank. Item-specific scaling should be verified from its displayed ranked versions rather than inferred from the rank alone.
Difficulty Scaling
Difficulty affects both encounter strength and the rank floor of dropped equipment. There are exactly five currently documented settings—D0, D1, D2, D3, and D4. A drop on D1 is at least +1, while a drop on D4 is at least +4, with a possibility of rolling above that floor.T1
The underlying loot item remains the same across difficulties; higher difficulty accelerates rank progression rather than reserving separate items exclusively for harder settings.T1
Caps & Diminishing Returns
| System | Current documented rule | Status |
| Equipment rank | Up to +10. | Officially confirmed. |
| Low-level item haste cap | Removed as of the July 7 beta patch; standard haste-cap rules still apply. | Officially confirmed.T1 |
| Primary attribute caps | No EQL-specific consolidated cap table has been developer-confirmed in the reviewed sources. | Unresolved. |
| AC soft caps | Legacy formulas may not apply unchanged; EQL-specific caps require testing. | Unresolved. |
| Mana from WIS/INT | Role confirmed by inherited system behavior; exact level and soft-cap formula not verified for EQL. | Unresolved. |
