Wizard

Wizard is the most concentrated direct-damage caster package. It contributes large nukes, elemental specialization, ports, resist-management options, and strong Intelligence-caster invocation scaling.

Overview

Primary Role

High-burst direct damage, resistance pressure, and teleportation

Resource Profile

Mana and Endurance interact through spells, stances, and invocations.

Damage Profile

See Melee, Spells, and the class details below for the delivery families this class supplies.

Multiclass Function

The class contributes its skills, spells, passives, stance access, and invocation access to the active loadout; overlapping mechanics use their own cap and stacking rules.

Class Details

Quested high-level spells

Developers cited Ice Comet as a spell that still requires its quest rather than appearing on an ordinary master vendor. T1

Teleportation and Rituals

Leveling Wizard or Druid unlocks ports that can be recorded as Rituals for use from other loadouts while resting. T1

Inviolable and Arcane Mastery

Wizard uniquely combines broad Intelligence-caster scaling with access to Inviolable for uninterruptible casts at high resource cost. T2; a distinct class contribution that combines with other active-class mechanics according to the applicable stacking and cap rules.

High direct-damage burst

A distinct class contribution that combines with other active-class mechanics according to the applicable stacking and cap rules.

Elemental and resist targeting

A distinct class contribution that combines with other active-class mechanics according to the applicable stacking and cap rules.

Ports and saved travel rituals

A distinct class contribution that combines with other active-class mechanics according to the applicable stacking and cap rules.

Strengths by Level Range

These breakpoints identify spells, abilities, or skills that materially change the class’s damage, control, recovery, or group value. They are highlights rather than a complete spell list.T2

Levels 1–19

  • Immediate cold burst and line-of-sight damage establish the pure-caster identity (1: Blast of Cold, 1: Frost Bolt).
  • The class contributes direct damage from the first level without requiring pet or melee setup.

Levels 20–34

  • Stronger single-target and area spells expand the burst toolkit (24: Frost Shock, 34: Ice Shock).
  • This range rewards resist debuffs and Over Channel because a resisted high-cost nuke loses more value than a missed low-cost attack.

Levels 35–50

  • Late cold and magic spells deliver the class’s largest single-target and area damage spikes (35: Elnerick’s Entombment of Ice, 41: Force Strike, 41: Frost Storm, 49: Ice Comet).
  • Frost Storm is Wizard-only; it is not part of the Druid spell list.

Multiclass Synergy Boundaries

What stacks
Distinct skills, spells, passives, pets, utility, and stance/invocation access can combine when their own stacking rules permit.
What does not automatically stack
Duplicate crowd control, avoidance skills, buffs, and cap-based mechanics do not become additive merely because two classes grant them.
Evaluation method
Identify the mechanic supplied by Wizard, link to its canonical rule, then compare marginal value against the other two active classes.

Open Verification Questions

Balance-sensitive: exact spell, discipline, AA, stance, and invocation values may change. This page centralizes stable class boundaries and sends numerical effects to their canonical reference pages.
