Click & Worn Effects

Click Effects are activated item abilities; Worn Effects are passive while equipped. This page separates their activation rules, Exaltation thresholds, compatibility constraints, and comparison criteria.

Click vs. Worn Effects

Click Effect

An activated item ability. Its tooltip can specify equip requirements, charges, cast time, cooldown, required level, target, and effect spell. The item must be activated by the player or a macro.

Worn Effect

A passive property supplied while the item is equipped. Current categories include haste, vision, breathing, regeneration, and Bard instrument modifiers.

These are distinct Exaltation families: Click unlocks at +2 and Worn unlocks at +3. T2

Click Effects

Read the complete item tooltip before treating a clicky as generally usable. Two items casting the same spell can still differ in activation restrictions, charges, casting time, cooldown, or required level.

Tooltip fieldTechnical meaning
Must EquipThe item must occupy its equipment slot before activation.
Any Slot / Can EquipThe item can be activated from inventory when the character is eligible to equip it; exact wording is item-data dependent.
ChargesFinite-use items consume a charge per successful activation; verify whether the item can be recharged.
Cast TimeActivation may be instant or use an item-cast interval that can expose the user to interruption or movement constraints.
CooldownTime before the item—or a shared recast group—can be activated again.
Required LevelSome click effects do not activate until the character reaches the effect's required level.

The July 7 official patch corrected intermittent target-selection failures for item click effects and rituals. T1

Worn Effects

Attack Speed

Haste effects modify melee attack timing subject to the applicable haste rules and caps.

Vision & Environment

Ultravision, enduring breath, and similar effects provide passive exploration or environmental capability.

Regeneration

Passive HP, Mana, or Endurance regeneration can alter sustain without consuming an active spell slot.

Instruments & Special Modifiers

Bard instruments and effect-specific worn properties can modify a narrow ability family rather than a general statistic.

Stacking warning: worn effects can use category-specific caps or best-value rules. The item tooltip identifies the effect, but the exact stacking rule belongs to the underlying mechanic—such as haste—not to the word “Worn.”

Click & Worn Exaltation Workflow

  1. Reach the required rank

Raise the source and destination item to +2 for Click or +3 for Worn.

  2. Remove the effect

Extract the Click or Worn Exaltation from the source item. The source no longer supplies that effect while it is removed.

  3. Match slot and class

The destination must share the source slot and at least one eligible class with the Exaltation.

  4. Review final restrictions

The item's usable classes become the intersection allowed by the destination and inserted Exaltation; source-slot restrictions also carry forward.

Exaltations can be moved back; the decision is not a permanent destruction of the effect. T2

Current Lookup & Comparison

EQ Legends Tools Clickies supports class, effect, item, and slot-oriented comparison. The companion Worn Effects search uses class, special-effect, slot, and item filters and includes Bard instruments. Item data is actively curated but can lag live changes; verify final values in game. T2
